Halfway through completing the painting, I realised where the inspiration had come from - "A Taste of Honey", the 1961 film, starring Dora Bryan, Murray Melvin and Rita Tushingham, filmed in Manchester and Stockport; characters Geoff & Jo head out to the countryside, whilst a chimney in the background belches out smoke Trevor Grimshaw style! Morrissey's favourite film apparently..?
